The Badu 90 swimming pool pump is the pump with which SPECK established its worldwide reputation. This German-manufactured swimming pool pump is described as a single-stage self-priming filter pump with strainer. This filter collects coarse dirt and is easy to clean.

The swimming pool pump can be used to circulate the swimming pool water in filter systems. The swimming pool pump circulates the water in the swimming pool, thereby ensuring that the chemicals are properly distributed.
It should be mounted a max. 3 m above or below the water level and the temperature of the water should not exceed 60°C.
Choosing the capacity of your swimming pool pump:
For the correct choice of swimming pool pump, two factors need to be considered. The first is the size of your swimming pool. The pump should be capable of running at least 8 hours a day and in addition pump the full volume of water twice within a period of 24 hours.
A 50 m³ swimming pool should therefore have a pump that circulates 100 m³ water over a period of 8 hours. The minimum pumping capacity is then 12.5 m³/h. For a 50 m³ swimming pool, we would therefore recommend a Badu 90 SPECK pump with a flow of 13 m³ per hour.
Studies have, however, shown that with conventional two-cycle filtration, 16% of the water remains untreated. That is why we recommend letting the swimming pool pump run for two hours longer or using a slightly heavier pump.
The second factor in the choice of a swimming pool pump is the capacity of the sand filter. The capacity of the swimming pool pump should be appropriate to that of the sand filter. This means that the filter capacity should always be greater than the capacity of the swimming pool pump. Ignoring this may result in poor water treatment and damage to the pump and/or filter.
Attention: it is not because a pump has a certain capacity (e.g. 15m³/h) that this flow rate is actually achieved; the distance from the pump to the swimming pool, as well as the diameter and length of the pool piping, are also determining factors and typically results in a degree of 'loss'.
