Putting Blue Connect in winter mode

With the summer over, you need to put your Blue Connect Plus in winter mode. You can do this using the following step-by-step plan.

Take the Blue Connect out of the water and remove the cap at the bottom.
Activate the Internet (Wi-Fi or 4G) and the Bluetooth function on your smartphone.
Stay close to the device when setting standby for the Blue Connect Plus
Open the app and go to Settings. Press the button: Set to standby mode.
Clean the storage cap with clean water and dry the cap. Put KCI7 or PH4 in the storage cap and screw the Blue Connect Plus to the cap.
Validate the standby mode and place the Blue Connect Plus in an area that is free of frost.

Although KCI7 can lead to the crystallisation of salt on the device, this is harmless and can be washed off with water.

If you have to take the Blue out of the pool for more than 1 hour, we advise you to put the Blue Connect Plus in the storage cap. You then also have to fill the storage cap with KCI7 or PH4.

If these are not available, you can still use swimming pool water. At least make sure that the Blue Connect Plus does not run dry.

Activating Blue Connect after the winter

After the winter, you need to reactivate the Blue Connect Plus. To do this, follow the step-by-step plan below:

Open the app and go to Settings. Then choose to activate the Blue Connect.
Hold the top towards your body and shake the Blue Connect vigorously. The device has been activated successfully when the Blue Connect beeps twice.
Press ‘OK’ on the app to complete the activation. The device is linked to your account again and to the Sigfox network for the Internet connection.
Hold the Blue Connect straight and unscrew the storage cap.
Empty the storage cap and clean it with water before putting it back in the box.
Clean the 2^nd cap with water and screw it to the Blue Connect Plus so that the probe is protected.
Place the Blue Connect Plus in the swimming pool and let it float. If necessary, you can tie your Blue to the side of the pool with a piece of string.
It may take a few hours before the Blue Connect measurements are stable.
